Treatment for corns

I have corns on my toes and have heard that I can apply salicylic acid. Does it work?
There are several topical agents used to treat corns. These include urea, salicylic acid and lactic acid creams. These products only work for the very superficial acute corn. If you have a long standing corns, these products are worthless.  Best advice, get the corn removed with a scalpel and change your shoe wear to something more comfortable, rather than something sexy and uncomfortable.
